Channel 4 has picked up the acclaimed French crime series Les Témoins (Witnesses).
The atmospheric police procedural is set in a small town on the Normandy coast, where the bodies of murder victims are being unearthed from graves and left for discovery in showhouses.
Clues left at each trespassed home point to a legendary police chief (Thierry Lhermitte), now retired.
The series made its debut on Belgian TV last November and on France 2 in March this year. It began streaming on Netflix in May. Channel 4 will begin showing it on 22 July at 10 pm.
