Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman and Tom Hiddleston head a starry cast in BBC One's forthcoming adaptation of John le Carré's The Night Manager. It will be the first TV adaptation of a le Carré novel in more than two decades, and includes a cameo appearance by the author.
A former soldier, now a night manager of a luxury hotel (in Zurich in the book), is recruited by British intelligence to infiltrate an international arms dealer's network, but he himself must become a criminal.Rather than being based in South and Central America as in the book, the new adaptation is set in the Middle East during the Arab Spring in Cairo.
The cast also includes Tom Hollander, Russell Tovey, David Harewood, Katherine Kelly and Neil Morrissey. The six-part series will air on BBC One towards the end of February, and in the US on AMC on 19 April 2016.
