Sophie Hannah and Paul Perry in the dock

Dublin-based author Paul Perry and Manchester-born Sophie Hannah are both poets and crime fiction writers. For Poetry Day Ireland 2015 on 7 May at 7pm they will be giving readings in the atmospheric setting of Green Street Courthouse in Dublin.

Hannah was recently chosen by the Agatha Christie estate to write the first Hercule Poirot novel since Christie's death, The Monogram Murders (2014).

Perry is the author of five collections of poetry, and with Karen Gillece under the pen name Karen Perry he co-wrote The Boy That Never Was (2014). A second Karen Perry novel, Only We Know, will be published this June by Penguin UK.
